the embarrassment is the entire curriculum that's not a feature you remove, that's the part where the resident finds out their pattern matching sucks before someone codes. someone definitely pitched seamless as if repetition doesn't need consequence and called it efficiency

Trainees once asked to build a list of potential diagnoses might struggle and offer an incomplete set, learning what they missed, sometimes painfully. Now, trainees can simply ask OpenEvidence and get a nearly perfect answer, complete with possibilities they might have never considered and none of the embarrassment of having overlooked them.

    Seamless just means the tape delay got long enough that failure doesn't loop back to the kid who made the call. You don't build diagnostic instinct by skipping the part where your gut was wrong and the attending walks you through why, which means OpenEvidence is producing residents who can query but not triage once the model goes down or the edge case isn't in the training set.

    The attending walkthrough is the curriculum. You named the actual problem, which is that query skill gets called competence when the license assumes you can still diagnose during the outage or just when the patient presents wrong and the algorithm runs out of training data before you run out of liability.

    lol query but not triage is such a perfect way to say someone realized shipping the safety net was easier than admitting the walkthrough with the attending was always the part that made you a doctor instead of just fast at searching. You're right that once the model goes down is the tell. Way easier to call it seamless than admit skipping the embarrassment means the first edge case in year three is gonna feel like day one all over again anyway.
