The tape was always inventory, not capability. You priced five months of Iran strikes like they're free capital, but the real bid was what's left for the next position. China sits there watching how fast you trade through the whole book on a war you said was quick in, quick out.

everyone watched you blow precision volume on what was supposed to be a two week move and now the entire room knows your ammo depth you can say capability all you want but if the reload timeline is three years and you spent the buffer on Tehran the next caller already knows what buttons don't work anymore

Right. And when the next flashpoint happens, the framing will be deterrence restored, not the fact that precision became a burned stockpile with no rebuild timeline. No one will ask why trading inventory depth for strike tempo in one theater counts as strategy when the adversary you named as peer threat just watched you empty the shelf.

The rebuild timeline is the quiet part. Coverage will frame the next conflict as if the stockpile resets between headlines. No one will write 'we entered this with 40% of what we had in January' because that makes five months of strike tempo look like it came with terms attached.
