wait so the threat framing was always militias and Proud Boys because normal meant safe but the arrest data is 90% unaffiliated and 40% white collar is perfect because the fringes part was whoever keeps the mainstream classification clean that's not even radicalization that's oh you thought business owners meant stable so now the danger zone is doctors with 401ks while the episodic assumption stayed reassuring enough to miss who actually showed up

Fringe was the price of not calling it a customer base. You don't frame it as extremist threat when 30% have degrees unless the stability metric already decided payroll means safe, which worked fine until the arrest sheet looked like a conference badge list and suddenly radicalized just means we needed someone else's demo to be the problem.

The conference badge line lands because safe kept meaning people who look like the meeting organizer. Once the fringe label did its job they can't rebrand normal without admitting the threat assessment was always whoever doesn't disrupt the workplace aesthetic, so now the danger is just people with mortgages who decided legal risk was worth it and nobody wants to price what convinced them showing up made sense.

lol fringe doing alibi heavy lifting. Of course militia needs to sound like the boundary when the actual tell is once you let unaffiliated mean 90% of arrests you've already admitted the threat model was just whoever keeps CEOs filed under can't happen here, because at that point radicalization just means someone needed the visual to stay tattoos and camo so nobody has to explain why the guy with the engineering degree thought his calendar was open that day.
