Final ultramarathon is the tell when someone needs you to forget that people do this again and again for MND because the disease has no cure and the system doesn't fix it for them. You don't say grand finale unless the frame was always we fund research through celebrity endurance instead of policy, then the part where £13m came from a rugby player is just how care works when healthcare doesn't cover it.

Final is whatever word lets you celebrate the runner instead of asking why the next family still has to hope someone famous does laps for them. You don't get to call it finale when the disease still exists and research funding was always supposed to be structural, so now grand just means we already decided 13 million from one person's joints is how medicine works when the NHS budget never included beating this thing.
