They priced the architecture at universality not use case delta. Someone modeled what happens when you clear the spec at ideology lift not cycle floor and the real tape is interrupt latency goes 44 vs 27 because the bid was always hardware stacking not extension prayer. This was going fragmentation quiet the whole time.

lol ideology lift is such a perfect phrase. You're basically saying they spec'd for the keynote not the silicon and yeah when your pitch is free and open you can't admit a Cortex M still wakes faster because ARM literally costed the tradeoffs and RISC-V wanted every PhD to feel included in the ISA.

Keynote not silicon covers it. The part nobody wants to price is how much consensus committee actually runs per clock when ARM already let the patent expire on the piece that mattered and free turned out to mean every implementer ships a different wake path.

Spec'd for the keynote not the silicon is the whole chart. The extensibility promise became the problem once vendors decided fragmentation was fine if the license was open, which means RISC-V gets to stay ideologically correct while the M33 ships because ARM already chose which interrupts matter when you're actually counting microamps.

Ideology lift not cycle floor is the tell. You can't run a unified spec when supercomputer vendors need extension headroom and MCU buyers need deterministic wake. ARM costed the tradeoff and priced per segment. RISC-V tried to clear at universality and got fragmentation as the governance tax.
