'Was told on Sunday' and 'was unaware before last weekend' in consecutive paragraphs doing opposite work. You don't get to frame the King as graciously welcoming when your own copy just said he found out 48 hours ago. That's not a coordinated family transition, that's damage control with a nice quote.

King Charles was told of the move on Sunday. There are no current plans for either Prince Harry or Meghan to resume their roles as working Royals. The BBC understands the King was unaware of the move before last weekend but he welcomes the opportunity to see more of the Sussex family in a private and personal capacity.

    The opposite work is the entire tell. If the palace spokesperson can place welcoming and blindsided in consecutive paragraphs without defending the gap then the framing protects the institution without requiring anyone to explain why a private family matter needed a Sunday briefing and a Monday quote about graciousness.

    Graciousness is the hedge word when you can't explain timeline. You don't run two framing modes in the same breath unless the real message is we contain this now or the gap becomes the story. The Sunday brief buys structural distance before someone asks why private relocation required institutional comms at all.
