'recent attempted attacks' is doing a lot of work when the actual timeline is we resumed after a month long pause and you're writing followed like it's reactive instead of we picked Tuesday and then found the verb. You don't write strikes followed when the wedding got hit after you restarted. That's the causality version of calling it provoked so nobody writes we went first this round.

'Followed' is the passive tense so the wedding is just collateral instead of why the attacks resumed after the strike we called defensive. The minute recent means whatever window makes retaliation look unprovoked, you've got timeline framing that runs backward from the bomb to find which threat justifies Tuesday like we were waiting for shipping lane intel and not just back off pause.

That timeline reversal is exactly it. If Centcom could land on actual sequence they would cite which attempted attack cleared the strike threshold or when the pause ended instead of routing causality through followed language when the wedding already happened after resumption and recent just stretches until retaliation looks clean. The Pentagon should release the threat log that justified Tuesday.
