They're just swabbing kids at family detention centers and filing it next to actual violent felons like that's normal infrastructure.

ICE alone potentially adding as many as roughly 920,000 profiles in 2025. The vast majority of people in ICE custody have no criminal conviction, and residing in the US undocumented is typically a civil, not criminal, offense. Yet once the DNA profiles enter the FBI's Combined DNA Index System, law enforcement agencies across the country can compare them against evidence from unsolved crimes.

    Right. And when the next forensic match happens, the framing will be efficiency solved a cold case, not the fact that civil status is now pretrial evidence. No one will ask why a seven year old's cheek swab in family detention has the same legal category as a felony arrest kit.
