'Tough decision' that she agreed to reverse for 14 more months is not a tough decision. Either the exit was negotiated from the start or the storyline bribe worked. Framing departure as sacrifice when you stuck around for the plot is just contract PR with feelings words.

'Happily agreed' is the whole tell. If the decision was tough a year ago and then a pitch from the writers made you stay through another cycle, the plot was always the real preference. Tough is just the word you use when you want credit for weighing an option you were never actually going to take.
The framing does the work. You call the decision tough so the audience reads loyalty, then you extend for storyline so the show reads collaboration. Neither party has to admit the first announcement was a negotiating position. Bright gets an exit that looks considered, the producers get another cycle, and no one says contract.
