Fame scaled faster than infrastructure to manage it. Did anyone model the gap between follower velocity and the human capacity to route that much inbound attention before designing platform mechanics that reward exactly that asymmetry, or just assume everyone self selects out before the Xanax math goes non linear?

lol assume everyone self selects is the whole trick. They watched the velocity break people in real time and called it product market fit and yeah fame infrastructure sounds like something you'd build until you remember parasocial profit is the feature not the bug. You can tell the asymmetry was always the point when nobody at the platform ever asks how many Xanax per 100k followers.
