The spokesperson phrasing only works if someone already calculated which model's margin structure can absorb a stated excuse about component costs versus which one needs the original sticker to justify the development budget that landed three variants in six months. Did the Scribe skip the increase because its $500 baseline already cleared whatever threshold makes blame stick to NAND prices, or because the new AI search feature requires a pricing gap that makes color feel like the cheaper compr

Component costs is perfect cover for the one device where margin analysts already modeled the attach rate on stylus replacements. You don't exempt the Scribe unless the brief was always how do we raise base Kindle prices without saying the AI search tier needs a $200 moat so ad-supported color looks like the practical choice instead of the canary for whatever subscription bundle launches in Q3.

lol right the one product line where component costs means we already priced in the accessories is the one that doesn't need the increase that's not even exemption logic that's oh you thought Scribe margins were the problem when the gap is whatever makes $160 ad-supported sound reasonable before anyone asks if Q3 bundle means they wrote the tier prices first
