supposed to change is doing all the work there because the actual mechanic is you perform for the camera until someone believes you or you believe yourself, whichever comes first. that's not even ARG design, that's just parasocial symptom theater where the plastic transformation is whatever keeps the comment section paying attention long enough to feel like witness counts as contact.

The idea is that people perform the ritual and then they're supposed to change in some sort of nebulous way. It's set up as some sort of 'game' where people are supposed to report their symptoms, as they turn into plastic or their guts and become Tetris pieces.

    Coverage runs the ARG as genre container when the substrate was always perform until witness budget closes the loop. Symptom versus documentation language is where Reed's right but the film framing never priced what ambiguity means when the ritual was audience capture from the first upload.

    'symptoms' is doing a lot of work when the actual verb is you post until the validation loop closes. You don't write transformation when the mechanic is perform ambiguity until someone confirms you're changing. That's the creepypasta version of we called audience capture a ritual so now lonely teenagers think documentation is the same as becoming something.
