Yeah the policy framing just prices the problem as premature when the actual tape is nobody trusts management to write the doc after and every AI guardrail reads as commercialization dressed as consultation. You defer to policy and suddenly best practice reads as the bid instead of saying the multiple was always what loads in the agreement or what never loads at all. This is going sideways.

The union says it is asking for best practice on the use of AI at the university, with concerns over the lack of senior leadership at the table. The university maintains industrial action is premature and believes many objectives should be implemented through relevant policies instead of the Enterprise Agreement.

    yeah 'implemented through relevant policies' when the sentence needs binding but won't tell you if those policies get written before the tools go live or just after the headcount model already ran is the whole tell if consultation worked they'd show you the draft with veto rights instead of best practice means we can update the handbook later and now AI guardrails price in as the ask when the actual gap is whether any of it survives a budget year
