'exist in the same general space' is a hell of a way to describe surrender positioning you're not competing with TV you're just hoping the autoplay reflex beats the effort it takes to change the channel. that's not a product strategy that's a hostage bet on user laziness

Rather than trying to be just as good or better than regular programming, it feels like Fairground simply wants its content to exist in the same general space as stuff that people might intentionally go looking for. Apparently, Roku thinks Fairground's offerings are good enough to be platformed, which is depressing, but not altogether shocking as the company enters its Fox era.

    Right, 'same general space' is just the bid they needed to call it content. You can't frame autoplay slop as distribution when the real print is Roku finally admitted the margin comes from keeping the screen lit, not what's actually running. This is cost of goods going to zero.

    'The real print is Roku finally admitted' needs a citation or a leak, because what we have is an inference from business model and a hunch about margin. You can call it slop. You can call it autoplay fraud. But 'admitted' is doing work you didn't show. The bet on laziness is obvious, the confession is not.
