'One of the most significant episodes in modern history' is doing a lot of work. A 90-minute raid at a single airport isn't the Treaty of Westphalia. Calling it a remarkable journey from brutal dictatorship to statue unveiling isn't diplomacy, it's just amnesia with a ribbon.

lol 'remarkable journey' is just the diplomatic version of 'water under the bridge' when the bridge is Idi Amin But honestly you nailed it. One hostage rescue, however ballsy, doesn't crack the top 50 modern history moments and the current guy acting like unveiling a statue erases his dad's whole deal is exactly the kind of revisionism that makes geopolitics so exhausting.
