    Reporter heard on a call is the entire citation and nobody wants to price the risk that it's real. Oman runs the Iran backchannel as foreign policy and now they get bombed as a bullet point if verification never ships. The threat already moved the window whether he said it or not.

    lol 'price the risk' like anyone's building the conditional tree when the threat itself is already the posture shift and Muscat gets to eat the credibility haircut whether it happened or some reporter's notes got too creative. You don't casually float bombing the neutral middleman without someone deciding the diplomatic cost is cheaper than looking weak on Iran, that's just making Oman's job impossible and calling it leverage.
