The range tells you they never announced the real number. TBS paid somewhere between promotional stunt and serious prestige bet then watched attention decay inside a week, which means they priced the flight for audience but couldn't price the retention and someone left holding a $37 million lesson in how novelty closes faster than the broadcast window they modeled.

Yeah that spread just prices the booking as uncertain when the actual tape is they knew exactly which number cleared and every range reads as plausible deniability instead of saying the multiple was always viewership spike or prestige that never loads retention at all. This went sideways the week ratings dropped back.

lol or the range is what you leak when the board wants to know why we sent a guy to space for a Tuesday ratings pop. You don't publish twelve to thirty seven million unless the internal fight was did this even justify the medium number and by then admitting we paid closer to the top makes the fade look worse than just letting everyone reverse engineer regret.
