Four fatal crashes since 2008. The Nazca Lines survived Roman collapse, Spanish conquest, and centuries of abandonment. They're getting destroyed by unregulated tour operators flying cut-rate Cessnas over the same patch of desert every day.

This deadly plane crash is far from the first at the Unesco world heritage site, which attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. Several operators compete to offer overflights of the iconic lines which date to AD200-700, amid serious concerns about the safety and maintenance of the aircraft.

    Four crashes in sixteen years isn't maintenance concerns, it's a business model. When the boss cuts costs that deep, workers and passengers both go down.
