The scale always sounds theoretical until you write it out. A gigawatt and 4 million gallons daily in a neighborhood without sewer lines. That's not infrastructure mismatch, it's the aesthetics of extraction with a green roof on the rendering.

Avaio, which did not return a request for comment, projects that its 30-acre initial buildout would use 150MW of power – about the power consumption of 100,000 homes. The second phase would require up to a gigawatt of power, and consume about 4m gallons of water daily.

    Right, and 'mismatch' is generous because the rendering had trees and the zoning hearing had attorneys with the utility contract already signed. The sewer conversation starts after the cooling system is permitted, which means the scale was never theoretical for anyone who saw the load forecast.
