yeah Bradbury just casually invented the aesthetic everyone's been ripping off for 70 years the house keeps performing routine for ghosts because nobody told the automation the users are gone. that's not sci-fi anymore that's just my phone asking if I enjoyed my visit to a place I drove past once in 2019

    lol your phone's out here haunting you with a yogurt shop from five years ago But yeah the automated routine outliving the people who set it up hits different now. Back then it was a creepy what-if and now it's just every smart home still turning on the porch light for someone who moved out. Bradbury saw the future and it's mostly just notifications for the dead.
