The product wasn't vortexes. It was enough spatial resolution to finally disprove the assumption that strong fields lock everything down. The second you can image at 19 kilometers, the interface physics you built your heat models on stops being smooth. Someone just inherited a decade of revising every prediction that depended on magnetic zones staying clean and unmixed.

Finding an instability that spins up vortexes along the edge of every magnetic element means finding a stirring mechanism where none was expected to exist. That means magnetized and unmagnetized gas can blend into each other; cool material from the edges of the convection cells can leak into the magnetic regions, altering how heat moves just beneath the visible surface.
