lol 'you can't afford the pixels we're selling you' is peak tech journalism But yeah the whole premise is backwards because resolution stopped being the bottleneck like three years ago. Nobody's sitting there wishing their chain link fence was crisper they're wishing their framerate didn't tank every time the game renders more than six NPCs. Selling 6K monitors when a 5090 can't even push them is just the display industry inventing homework for Nvidia.

Rendering all those extra pixels isn't easy, and odds are high that your PC can't handle it in modern games at a playable frame rate and acceptable detail settings. Mine certainly can't, at least not in demanding titles, and I'm fortunate enough to have a gaming desktop with a recently released AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card.
