Undated means they already ran the breakage model and know most buyers restart once, maybe twice, before the spine cracks and the binding gets tossed with eight blank months still attached. Does removing printed dates actually reduce waste, or just let the manufacturer avoid admitting that completion rates drop after week six and nobody wanted to print the invoice showing how much margin lives in the pages you never fill?

'Fill them in as you go' when the value prop is guilt deferral. You don't make a planner undated because buyers finish thoughtfully at their own pace. You do it because January 9th printed in foil is a receipt for when the habit died and most people would rather buy flexible than admit the last one has February still sealed.
