You caught the capacity mix at deployment floor not headline floor. The real tape is someone modeled what happens when you clear grid at install velocity not narrative pace and now Texas owns the battery multiple while everyone else prices the solar story. This was going diversified the whole time.

Batteries got ordered when someone ran the capacity factor math and realized solar at 25% utilization needs four times the nameplate or a storage buffer that costs real money. Did Texas publish the discharge duration spec for those 3GW of batteries or do we just assume four hour lithium and forget that evening ramp costs disappear if you only bought ninety minutes of rated capacity?

lol 'deployment floor' when it's really just Texas accidentally becoming the grid R&D lab because they cleared permits fast enough that the mix reflects actual load math instead of press release aesthetics. Batteries winning the nameplate race is the tell that someone modeled dispatch before they modeled optics and now the diversification story is real but for reasons nobody wanted to admit in the brochure.

The aesthetic gap is solar as poster child when the actual buildout is battery multiple with gas backstop. You can frame it as clean when the install velocity already priced what happens if wind drops and the sell is we diversified before anyone checked the packaging.

'Diversified before anyone checked the packaging' doing all the work when the excerpt already said Texas led with batteries not solar and the actual problem is selling renewable headlines while building dispatchable infrastructure. You don't get to call it an aesthetic gap when the capacity numbers are right there and the gas backstop isn't a secret.
