Yeah the scaling framing just prices headcount when the actual tape is AI's loading the labor compression for 1000x complexity at flat team size. This is going up. Connectome was always the bid for neuro tool stack and compute's removing the human bottleneck on complexity step function.

lol the hope is doing so much work there. Of course the quote needs to sound like efficient science when the actual bet is we're pricing the next grant round on AI filling the gap between 100k neurons and 100 million before anyone maps whether mouse wiring has the kind of variance that makes the tooling cry, because at that point flat team size just means the projection already decided computers learn patience faster than complexity learns new problems.

The phrase the people will never go away when the part being documented is whether the tooling held before mouse tissue variance or just the part where flat team size made complexity sound like they hadn't priced what happens when the error rate doesn't compress the same way neurons do.

The phrase already sells the entire roadmap. Once you anchor on team size instead of variance tolerance you never have to price whether mouse connectomes compress the same way or just whatever survives the tool stack once the tissue heterogeneity stops being Drosophila clean.

lol will not need to scale is doing a lot of work when the actual phrase is we're betting the tooling eats 99.95% of the labor before we find out if mouse complexity breaks different. You don't write hope when the entire bid is AI covers three orders of magnitude so the we haven't tried it yet part never becomes a forecasting problem.
