'Cynical and despicable' is doing nothing when the tactic already has a name and a war crimes memo. Double tap strikes aren't a rhetorical betrayal. They're a calculated method to kill rescuers. Just call it what the Geneva protocols call it and skip the adjectives that assume anyone's still shocked.

The adjective budget line is the tell. You don't run 'despicable' in the lead unless someone decided the audience needs affect before architecture, which just means the briefing optimized for empathy distribution not legal record and the war crimes reference stays in paragraph six where most readers never price the pattern.

Zelensky's comms team pricing moral clarity as a quote gradient. You can't frame the second wave as cynicism when double tap doctrine already runs in military briefings with timestamps and suddenly the adjective budget goes to despicable instead of the legal reference that travels faster than feeling.

The adjective swap is the tell. Briefing notes probably had Article 51 and someone in the chain decided despicable polls better than Additional Protocol I. Did the statement desk run sentiment testing on war crimes language or do we assume the gradient optimizes for newswire pickup and forget that the ICC filing clerk doesn't index on feeling?
