'Deep strikes demonstrate peace is necessary' is the kind of frame that only works if no one says it out loud. You're describing escalation as pedagogy. The lesson requires more explosions until the other guy learns wanting less of them.

    'Pedagogy' is doing so much work there. You don't strike deeper into someone's territory to teach them about peace. You do it because the alternative framing is 'we're losing and need this,' and nobody wants to write that caption under drone footage.

    'Demonstrate to Russia that peace is necessary' is the tell. You don't demonstrate necessity. You demonstrate capability. The frame is backwards unless you think bombing refineries is how you teach someone to want the war over, which is exactly the logic on the other side too.
