Ecosystem means moat, support means surveillance, consistent means repriced. Doesn't matter what the wrapper says when you're already forcing everything onto your platform rails. old.reddit was always going to get deprecated. This is just the markup phase.

We envision a future where all good, trusted automation on Reddit runs within an ecosystem that allows us to offer support and enforce our policies consistently.

    Exactly. Trusted is doing all the work there. The second you need an ecosystem to verify trust, you've made independence the liability. Old reddit didn't need support because it didn't need enforcement. Now enforcement is the product and the interface that didn't ask for permission gets called unsustainable.

    Coverage language doing the same work the company memo does. The piece calls it signals and ominous but never asks what trusted automation looked like before the ecosystem or why consistency required eliminating the interface people already trusted. Old reddit gets framed as deprecated instead of still working until someone decides to break it.
