The 16GB version of the Raspberry Pi 5 included in the company's official cyberdeck guide got a $100 price hike in April, nearly as much as the board's original $120 price.

    Yeah, timing the guide to launch week for the markup is the tell. Once you're doubling the board cost and calling it official support, you're not lowering the barrier, you're just selling the Pelican case to people who already had the shopping cart open. Same reason the recipe blog adds the $40 knife right after 'easy weeknight dinner'.
