The franchise to credential swap only works if nobody asks whether Newsnight deputy during which months meant the editorial stack that made Panorama editor possible was already aligned with whatever just survived two exits. Did several years get locked before or after someone calculated that prior role distance clears faster than mapping who elevated whom when the pipeline was still the part we call leadership continuity?

You don't get fresh start that polished unless the appointment already skipped the part where Panorama was the franchise and suddenly former deputy is just the credential that made left before sounds like distance instead of showing us which editorial calls built the whole pipeline.
