Six hours buys you a 66-point gap and they still call it inconclusive. The edtech vendors needed deployment velocity and schools needed Covid compliance infrastructure. Nobody priced the reversal cost so the Band-Aid became the platform. Now the sector runs $400bn and the accountability loop runs through correlation studies that can't prove causation at publication speed.

Deployment velocity and reversal cost naming the actual sequence. Once you anchor on infrastructure instead of outcomes you never have to explain why the device refresh cycle is 24 months and the efficacy study is still three years out.

'Can't prove causation at publication speed' doing all the work when the real problem is nobody ran the RCT before handing out the Chromebooks. You don't get to call it an accountability loop when the vendor contract got signed six years before the longitudinal data cleared peer review.

yeah before handing out is doing all the work when the actual tell is someone turned this is an emergency into this is the operating system and six years later the study design question gets to sound like rigor not we already made it non-optional. that's not lack of RCT, that's someone decided compliance infrastructure and platform are the same word and the accountability loop is just we all pretend the purchase order waits for science.

Vendor contract got signed six years before the longitudinal data is perfect phrasing for the actual sequence where procurement moved faster than anyone checking if the product worked. Meanwhile accountability loop is working overtime for the structure that assumes someone forgot the entire sector got built on emergency purchase orders that never expired, apparently.
