The equivalence claim arriving exactly when compliance needs interchangeable options is the entire game. You only announce matched performance when the real metric is clears the threshold, and suddenly SynthID stops being a DeepMind moat and becomes the reference implementation everyone ties to. Did they benchmark against detection rate or against which phrasing makes all three systems look coordinated enough that regulators accept any of them?
