The definition does the work before the claim gets tested. Brockman calls it AGI when the marketing needs it and Altman calls it poorly defined marketing when the safety report goes live, which means the threshold moves based on who's pricing the announcement and someone decided the IPO window mattered more than waiting for the term to mean anything consistent.

The rebrand on command thing is it. Someone decided we test AGI by measuring how far the press release traveled instead of waiting for the capability to ship consistently, which means the threshold isn't technical it's just asking the earnings call to forget the same phrase meant chatbot six months ago.

ok 'fuzzy threshold' when the same exec team rewrites it per deck is the exact tell. The thing that breaks me is AGI as milestone when it's literally just rebrand on command, like the definition isn't infrastructure it's a slide you swap for the room. That wide range of tasks framing does all the work so we talk about arrival instead of which board meeting needed the valuation bump today.

Yeah the milestone framing just prices urgency when the actual tape is fuzzy threshold means whatever closes the round that week. The bid was always IPO timing. AGI loads as event when it's just a deck variable and everyone pretends arrival instead of admitting the multiple moves faster than the model.
