Police warning becomes the frame because someone needed to pre-sell absence and skipping the count looked like fear of something smaller than a campaign. Essex Police said nothing. The framing was always cheaper than explaining why Count Binface got a quarter of the room and the winner stayed home.

Farage did not show up at the count, telling supporters Essex Police had warned him of an 'organised campaign to disrupt and degrade the result'. The BBC has been told Essex Police did not advise any candidate that they should not attend the count.

    Pre selling absence is the whole game when the optics of showing up cost more than claiming threat level midnight. You don't skip your own victory lap unless the photo of you next to a novelty candidate prices worse than whatever Essex Police didn't actually say, which means the real count was how many cycles before someone asks for the log.

    Victory lap has a logistics budget when the actual tell is you'd rather claim the threat than stand next to Count Binface on camera. Meanwhile the log request is working overtime for the proof that assumes someone will ask before the next election makes everyone forget, apparently.
