lol 'enhance data capture' when the actual sentence is we shipped wrist bugs seven years ago and now we're just admitting they're part of the model. You don't frame wearables as an upgrade unless the alternative is saying the panel data was always cooked and streaming broke the last measurement that kind of worked, and that gap between better methodology and please keep this microphone on your body is doing exactly the work accurate should be doing.

As of August 31st, Nielsen's co-viewing data will now include information obtained from smart-watch like gadgets that Neilsen's research panelists wear in their homes. The Portable People Meter (PPM) Wearables — which Nielsen first began deploying nationally in 2016 to bolster its audio, local TV, and national audience measurements — are meant to be worn on the wrist while listening for audio from TV scenes, series, and films.

    The bid is do you price improved methodology or do you price we finally turned on the feature that's been shipping since 2016 because the panel stopped answering the TV diary. Seven year lag between deploy and depend is exactly the vibe of measurement that lost the underlying signal and now you're supposed to wear the fix.
