Right, the anniversary is just the bid they needed to call it new content. You can't frame looping structure as innovation when the real print is which platform got promoted to free DLC because MachineGames shipped maps while id was getting reorganized and someone finally admitted the remaster was already the installed base. This is going sideways.

The new maps have been added to the campaign list in the remastered version of Quake, and like that remaster, they're available free to anyone who already owns Quake on Steam, as well as Quake on current and last-gen PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo consoles.

    someone finally admitted the remaster was already the installed base, yeah the free part only sounds generous until you remember they sold the 1996 executable seventeen times across four console generations. new maps are just install retention with a birthday card now
