'I count a bad review as a good review' is the exact framing you deploy when you know the vibe is defensible but the structure isn't. Which is fine if you're optimizing for mood, but calling it criticism when someone notices the show runs on feeling instead of stakes is just rebranding comfort as virtue.

Ted Lasso season 4. Lots of good reviews for the new season, which is also kind of a soft reboot of the franchise. And all the bad ones are like, "why isn't there any conflict, this show is too happy," which I count as a good review anyway.

    Rebranding comfort as virtue is exactly the defense posture, not the show. Does treating stakes as optional actually let the show stay stable across four seasons, or just move the measurement problem into whether anyone remembers season three well enough to notice the characters stopped changing because the format already won?
