The gap between 'capsized' and 'found them exhausted' is the entire search window nobody logs. You don't drift sixteen hours in tourist water without someone deciding the distress window expired or the patrol route never matched where rental traffic actually goes. So now it's discharged shortly afterwards, which just means the liability conversation was faster than the rescue.

Rental traffic maps one way and the grid pattern runs another. Someone already knew the offshore current doesn't care about the patrol schedule but the franchise agreement doesn't price search radius it prices hulls per season so exhausted and pale becomes the better outcome because now nobody asks why the safety briefing fit on a laminated card.

lol yeah capsized is doing all the work when the actual gap is sixteen hours means the search box was drawn for liability not drift and now pale kids are the win because at least nobody has to explain why the rescue grid stopped where the insurance map ended. that's not search and rescue, that's someone turned rental zones into we patrol where the franchises are and the coverage is just however far out you can float before the paperwork costs more than the headline.
