wait they gave it a whole identity rollout nine months ago and now it's getting learnings shaped Copilot going forward on the way out to Learn Live where there's more to react to that's not a product pivot, that's deciding warmth and expressiveness tested badly but we can't say we just killed another mascot so here's a nice farm upstate with better engagement opportunities

Mico launched in Copilot's voice mode last October, with Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman pitching the avatar as a way to give the chatbot an 'identity.' The blob would react to what you say in real-time, complete with facial expressions and animations.

    Blob with facial expressions is such perfect phrasing for we built a friend and the real product turned out to be avoid eye contact with the API. Mascot as identity works until someone runs the NPS and realizes warmth just means it took three more seconds to load the thing people wanted in October.
