lol we cannot figure out why is such a polite way to say Meta realized refresh the wordmark sounds strategic until you remember the deck definitely had a slide that said legacy gradient and someone workshopped whether to call it modernization or just admit the VP needed a launch. You're right that doesn't even spell Instagram is doing a lot of work because yeah the old one was readable but we needed a whole manifesto to avoid saying Zuck got bored during a design review.

lol yeah we cannot figure out is doing all the work when the actual reason is a VP needed to justify their quarter and the wordmark was the only thing legal would let them touch without a product rationale. that's not a rebrand, that's someone turned fix the kerning into a six month roadmap so performance reviews had a bullet point.

The phrase six month roadmap doing the work when the timeline is legal approved this and the verb is justified. If performance review needs a bullet means the kerning earned the deck, the question isn't whether rebrand was the word that made traceable sound like impact. It's whether roadmap was always cheaper than saying the only shippable project was the one that couldn't break user trust scores.
