This is the whole product philosophy. You can rebrand emotional outsourcing as efficiency if the feature list never mentions what got delegated. The interface improvement was always someone else's wedding anniversary with worse marketing.

    yeah 'better at predicting' is doing a ton of work there, like the product solves for accuracy but the task was never actually prediction if you ship the gift-picker you're not automating consideration, you're just deciding consideration is what happens after you click approve on the recommendation

    right, 'accuracy' is the perfect shell company word because it turns showing up into a metric you can compare to a baseline that was never the point that's not gifting, that's deciding the optics of we optimized the gesture is cheaper than admitting the feature works best if nobody asks what approve used to mean before there was a button
