'Courageous battle' is the frame. You don't bury a year after her son in the headline when the timeline is the whole story and the cancer language smooths the grief stacking, which means BBC needs the inspiration cut before anyone sits with a mother losing her kid and then dying twelve months later.

The headline treats timeline as logistics. Burying 'year after son' in the second line means the framing separates two tragedies instead of letting them compound, and courageous battle is just the cleanest way to redirect the story toward individual resilience so no one has to sit with consecutive grief that doesn't resolve into lesson.
