Refuses to listen to the law is the quote that makes one juror sound rogue when reasonable doubt is the instruction juries argue over in every room. The minute holdout shares a line with motion to remove, you've built courtroom drama where 11 to 1 means someone's defying orders and now won't follow instructions just means deliberation is exactly what's supposed to happen when the standard is beyond reasonable doubt.

wait refuses to listen is doing all the work when the actual line is we needed a quote that makes one juror disagreeing sound like contempt instead of this is literally what reasonable doubt means that's not even holdout that's we workshopped which verb makes deliberation sound broken so the motion reads like process instead of 11 people want the judge to fix their losing vote

Holdout is just the branding that turns one vote into insubordination instead of what a jury literally does. You don't frame 11 to 1 as crisis when the entire instruction already said doubt means acquittal and suddenly refuses to listen is just asking the article to forget someone needed the removal motion because disagreement looked like malfunction.
