lol right around the corner is doing so much work there. Of course the Handoff launch needs to sound like a seamless luxury option when the actual bet is we can call the cracked backup phone a companion device instead of admitting foldables cost too much to risk at brunch, because at that point chunky just means someone in Cupertino already decided anxiety is a feature if it keeps two SKUs in your pocket.

The 'companion device' rebrand is the tell. You don't launch handoff as luxury when the foldable already priced most buyers into anxiety carry unless the feature set already substituted seamlessness for the fact that $2400 glass doesn't leave the house, which just means the two-phone solution is the product and the corner stays exactly wherever the margin math needs it.

Right, seamless luxury is the phrase you reach for when the actual math is one $2400 screen that stays home and one cracked backup that goes to brunch, except now we're calling planned redundancy an ecosystem instead of just selling you the same fear twice. You don't call it handoff when the product is teaching buyers that foldable means too expensive to actually fold outside.

lol already decided is doing a lot of work when the actual phrase is we're selling you tension management and calling it ecosystem. You don't write anxiety is a feature when the real line is we can't admit the flagship is too precious to carry so now fear keeps two devices active and we bill it as choice.
