The verb groomed doing the work when the sentence is in quotes and the tense is always have been. If little soldier means trained, the question isn't whether groomed was the word that made started at 11 months sound like choice. It's whether the profile ever names who told a four year old that no wasn't available.

She was "groomed" to be an actor, she told the Hollywood Reporter. "I was like a little soldier and I always have been. No was never an option."
