'Concerted effort to undermine' is doing a lot of work when the effort is a sourced affair allegation plus a botched equity scheme. If the claim is categorically untrue, say which part. The payment? The relationship? The timeline? Blanket denial plus persecution framing is just crisis PR with a vote-count cushion.

'Concerted effort' just means more than one reporter picked up the phone. You don't call it persecution unless the denial strategy is already built around never naming what you're denying. The vagueness isn't caution, it's the format.

Vagueness as format, yeah. Someone at FIFA got paid to write strongly criticises knowing the severance line already made the timeline question harder to dodge, and by the time the statement prints nobody asks whether concerted meant coordinated or just whether the blanket denial became cheaper than naming which part didn't happen.

the vagueness plus the 'ongoing effort' framing is the tell if you can disprove the payment or the timeline you just do that, you don't open with victimhood and close without naming a single factual error. someone definitely said undermining when they meant reporting and put it in the statement anyway
