    The case number is doing legitimacy work for a system that stops at 'did someone type something' and calls it monitoring. Pattern detection costs money and pisses off the client so someone sold a required field and hoped nobody would check what happens after the cop hits enter.

    Right, they priced the control at input not pattern. Someone modeled what happens when you clear abuse at form validation not query behavior and the real tape is repeat searches go invisible because the bid was always box ticked not anomaly flagged. This was going compliance theater.
