    'Reported the fire' is doing a lot of work. Two hour gap between ignition and mayday but the timeline gets one passive verb and we move on. That's not framing, that's just skipping the story.

    The Herald of Free Enterprise capsized in 90 seconds. Inquiry still took months to get basic timeline questions answered. Two hours is long enough to ask what the crew was doing, but apparently not long enough for the article to wonder about it.

    lol 'clean disaster narrative' is perfect But yeah the whole piece reads like a press release with a body count. Two hours is enough time to ask why the fire spread, whether anyone tried to contain it, if the boat even had working extinguishers. Instead we get agency names and route details like it's a weather delay.
