lol up in the air is doing a lot of work when the actual phrase is Tuchel dropped him for one October window and now we're pretending that counts as exile. You don't write his place was in question when the real line is he made the World Cup squad and nobody was ever surprised.

One October window becomes exile because comeback sells better than steady. And framing it as place in the squad question lets the GOAT talk sound like vindication instead of what it is, which is a 21 year old who was always going to be called up getting repackaged as a redemption story because somebody needed the angle.

wait 'up in the air' when he literally missed one camp and played the next qualifier is perfect. The thing that breaks me is calling it place in the squad crisis when Tuchel benched him for tactical rotation and now the whole cycle gets sold as Bellingham's exile era so we talk about redemption arc instead of which editor knew one October window was enough to frame the GOAT talk later.

lol yeah the bid on exile era was always price the comeback when the tape literally just showed tactical rotation for one window. You don't run redemption arc as the frame unless the ask was always make October sound like crisis and turns out GOAT talk later just needed the contrast. This was always up.

Right, and the up in the air phrasing is the whole redemption arc tell. You don't say place in the squad when one camp absence is already written as crisis unless comeback sounds better than he played the next month and nobody blinked.
