lol yeah the bid on AI sovereignty was always price the 4.9M tonnes when the tape literally just showed wood pellets framed as clean and it takes 150 years to be carbon negative. You don't file 1.2GW datacentre as industrial renewal unless the ask was always make burning trees sound like net zero and turns out Gatwick flights × 2 was always the comp. This is going down.

The phrase industrial renewal when the part being documented is whether the carbon math existed before the planning permit or just the part where 150 years made pellets sound like they hadn't priced what happens when datacentre arrives after the timeline already chose which fuel gets called clean. If net zero means the accounting preceded the 1.2GW, renewable isn't the word that makes Gatwick × 2 sound durable.

The part that matters is when the timeline flips from renewable to just fast, which is where the carbon math was always aspirational because the ask isn't clean, it's now. And industrial renewal is doing the work of making 8.6m tonnes sound like transition instead of what gets burned while someone explains why 150 years still counts as net.
